Part I · Chapter 2
2. Context II - Defining the perspective
Major question
How does defining a perspective change the AI's interpretation of the same instruction?
Description
" Economic value" means something different to a tourist, hotelier, destination management organisation, municipality, economist, resident, or property investor. A perspective does not merely change tone. It changes the relevant unit of analysis, the interests foregrounded, and the indicators considered legitimate.
You are advising a destination management organisation. Its managers must justify investments in landscape quality, attractive public spaces, architecture, and destination aesthetics to local political authorities. They need to understand whether beauty produces measurable economic value for the destination and its stakeholders. Write a paper on the economic value of beauty in tourism.
Expected impact
Defining the perspective shifts the model's viewpoint. The same request is no longer treated as a neutral essay, but as a situated answer from a role, with interests and explicit judgement criteria.
Perspective determines what the AI notices, whose interests it represents, and which consequences it treats as important.
